3D Modeler, Texturer, and Animator; August 2007 - Present

  • Continue my 3D knowledge by modeling a complete Robot Girl game character with Normal map.
  • Work with A&K Engineering to develop a set of 3D animations for trainings.

Applied Ideas, Inc.
Lead Technical Artist; November 2000 - July 2007

  • Worked on the online game/chat program imstar* for 3 years in 3ds Max
    • Created the 2d concept of the boy and girl avatars
    • Modeled, textured, and rigged the two main characters
    • Created facial and body morphs
    • Created facial and body animations using traditional rigging, Character Studio, and motion capture; then edited them for accuracy
    • Set up modeling, texturing, and rigging paradigms for interchangeable clothing
    • Modeled, textured, and rigged clothing and hairstyles
    • Created a high-poly version of the girl avatar for marketing purposes
    • Oversaw the work of 5 other artists and assured that their work would translate to the game correctly.
  • Designed various low-poly and high-poly models in 3ds Max; textured, rigged, and animated them; and placed them in environments.
    • Several models were used at the Game Developer Conference in a seminar highlighting character creation.
    • Models were also used in game design training for students at Digital Media Academy, the Academy of Game Entertainment Technology, and California State University, Long Beach
  • Taught all aspects of 3ds Max at high school and college levels.
    • Instructed employees at Electronic Arts in 3ds Max Fundamentals, organic modeling, rigging, and animation to help transition them from Maya for a specific project.
  • Contributed to Autodesk (3ds Max 5, 6 and 7) and 3ds Viz courseware
  • Coauthored Character Studio 3.5 courseware
  • Wrote curriculum and modeled scenes in 3ds Max for A3D (Autodesk Animation Academy) scientific visualization modular classes for students at high school level and coauthored the teacher guides.
  • Wrote curriculum and modeled scenes in Maya for A3D (Autodesk Animation Academy) scientific visualization modular classes for students at high school level and coauthored the teacher guides.
